WOW WHAT A SALONE!
As part of the collaboration between cultural/humorous networks, the Wow Museo del Fumetto in Milan presents drawings from our Salone. The collaboration was born this year with three large panels on its history.
The exhibition “Venice to be saved. 50 years later” , brings together some of the cartoons created by the guest authors of the Bordighera International Humor Exhibition. Venice was one of the themes that most involved world public opinion, so much so that it attracted the attention of the Council of Europe which wanted it exhibited at the Palais de l'Europe in Strasbourg and subsequently, for around three years, in a European circumnavigation of various states: France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Austria. The visitors were 1,150,000, according to the CoE itself.
The problems of a unique city in the world still remain a highly topical theme today, which in the exhibition are seen through the lenses of humor and satire by artists such as Mariano Congiu, Raymond Peynet, Alberto Fremura, Giorgio Cavallo and Benito Jacovitti, Lucio Trojano, Marco De Angelis.
The exhibition opens on 28th p.v. and ends at the end of November unless extended.
Wow Museo del Fumetto, inaugurated in 2011, is the center of comics in Milan: a pleasant place that welcomes artists, publishers, enthusiasts and simply curious people who want to deepen the knowledge of historical and contemporary comics, in the most diverse fields, with a view to development and cultural growth. WOW, a unique reality in Italy, combines conservation (museum, historical archive, library) and dissemination (exhibitions, events, teaching), focusing on rooting in the territory and on specific national and international cultural bodies.
