Hüseyin is a humorist living in the Turkish Occupation Zone in Cyprus. We mention him not only for his artistic talents that speak for themselves but for a fact to remember in the history of the Salone.

In 1989 he won the Golden Date for the Fixed Theme and the medal of the Council of Europe but he could not come and collect the prize in Bordighera due to visa issues, in fact he resides in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. However, in 1996, an exhibition of Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot cartoonists was held in the UN-controlled Buffer Zone in Nicosia and Cesare Perfetto was invited to the opening. What better opportunity than to present Hussein with the awards won years ago? Unfortunately, the visa was denied once again, and then Cesare and the other humorists went to the border area and vainly try to hand over the prizes that will be left to the UN delegation for possible delivery.
