The Argentine Caloi, winner of the Silver Date, sees the car as an object of affection that he does not want to give up, the German Birg thinks courtly, the Chinese Jin Cui sees it in the convulsion of traffic, the Cuban Labadino, as termites giants devouring the globe. In short, a very heartfelt theme that testifies to the importance of the automobile in our lives.
Luigi Castiglioni, France, is awarded the Palme d'Or for Design, Paolo del Bianco wins the Golden Date for the Fixed Theme and Roland Fiddy, Great Britain, designs the poster.
Carlo and Norberto Valentini win the Palme d'Or for humorous literature with "The Blob blobs of the second Republic".
The Salone takes place again in Sanremo but no longer at Villa Ormond but on the Roof of the famous Ariston Theater! The guest of honor at the inauguration is Formula 1 driver Clay Ragazzoni who brings humor and a sense of irony.
In the foyer of the Ariston Theater, drawings and "political" caricatures by a young designer of the Travaso, Federico Fellini are exhibited ... and in the cathedral square there is a great popular party with a concert by the inevitable Minimum Training Band.
